Devon Philip Conway is a South African-born New Zealand cricketer who plays for the New Zealand cricket team. A left-handed batsman and wicket-keeper, Conway has played for New Zealand since 2020, and has become a key player in the team’s batting lineup.
Early career
Conway was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 8 July 1991. He started playing cricket at the age of five, and quickly rose through the ranks of junior cricket in South Africa. In 2010, he made his debut for the Central Gauteng Lions in the South African Provincial Challenge.

Conway made his Test debut for New Zealand in the second Test of the 2021 series against England. He scored a double century on debut, becoming only the fourth player in Test history to do so. Conway has since become a regular member of the New Zealand Test and One-Day International (ODI) teams. He is a solid batsman who is able to score runs against all types of bowling. He is also a good wicket-keeper, and has taken over 100 catches for New Zealand.
